'Zarurat- The Help Beyond' is a social initiative of the JECRC Foundation working primarily to provide free of cost elementary education to the underprivileged children living in the nearby slum areas of the college vicinity for the last eight years. The group also organizes many activities for these children like visits to science fair, museums, children's literature festival and other educational places. Recently, the group secured a place in Limca Book of Records by making the “Largest Display of Origami Flowers”, consisting of 24,626 origami flowers in the tricolor as a symbol of respect for the nation.
Every year, Team Zarurat organizes a day-long social event for these children. Other social groups (NGOs) of the city, Jaipur are also invited to the event. The fest witnesses a footfall of more than 1000 visitors. On these occasions, the institute has been fortunate enough to have the blessings of several dignitaries like D.R. Mehta, the world famous Jaipur Foot developer, ShriKailashSatyarthiJi, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2014, Ms. Gloria Benny, founder of Make a Difference and Guardian of Dreams, Mr.Anshu Gupta, founder of Goonj and the Magsaysay Award recipient, Mr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, co-founder of People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Rights, Mr.Chandi Prasad Bhatt, one of the pioneers of Chipko Movement, Mr.Rajendra Singh, the Waterman of India and Ms.Sudha Varghese, founder of NaariGunjan.
Keeping up with the spirit of Renaissance. The pre-Renaissance event “Zarurat – Celebrating Innocence” is celebrated seeing a footfall of around 350 kids from various NGOs and 200 student volunteers.Continuing the spirit of celebration, Zarurat will be organising this year’s event on 15th March,2019.
